France

I've just finished my project on France and it is truly more than I thought. It isn't just bread and the Eiffel tower It's also deep in culture and history. France is very interesting too and I had a great time learning about it, if you want to learn about it too make sure you check out my project on my wiki there is a link in the top right corner. Oh and if you could give me feedback on my project in the comments below that would be great. Stay here because I will be adding some more posts soon, BYE.

Hunting

Just think getting away from school, enjoying the great outdoors, having a great time with family, brisk air and snow on the ground,  how can you go wrong, that is why I love hunting season.

Hunting Season is one of my favorite times of year because I get to just have fun. You're probably wondering how can it be fun if you're just sitting in a cold stand all day doing nothing. Well if you don't see anything it isn't as fun but when I come in from my stand I get to hang out with my cousins and uncles who hunt too. I get to stay up as late as I want which can be good or bad (I have to wake up early to get to the stand.) Also I get to drive ATVs and I drank so much soda.  That part is the out of the stand but it adds a lot to the experience.

Though that stuff is fun the greatest part of deer hunting is when deer come into your stand. The adrenaline kicks in once that buck comes walking in after a doe, he pauses the perfect shot you aim and BANG! That's what it was like for me, I got my first buck this year I actually got two bucks this year. The first was a spike and there was no snow so it was hard to drag especially because we were in an wooded area that had been partially logged. My dad and I got it out after a while but we were both sweating a ton, even though it was cold out. We brought the deer back to the camp and headed back out after eating lunch (by the way I shot it at around 9:00AM) That night we stayed up pretty late so we slept in a little in the morning, we got to the stand at 7:30 and shot the five-pointer at 7:55. The night before it snowed a foot and with the snow it made it a ton easier to drag so I was able to drag it most of the way. We went back again and stayed at the camp for a while and took a nap, we ended up going back into the stand and saw some more does in the afternoon. Monday we sat for a little bit but had to go to town to register our deer. We got back and started doing some packing because we had to leave Tuesday, that was basically the rest of our trip.

Like I said before I love hunting season and I was so happy to get two deer. Oh and I forgot to tell you my 10 year old cousin Paige shot a spike her first deer. It was a great season and I probably won't get deer every year but It is still really fun. Also if you guys get the chance to hunt you should take it unless it's not your thing but you never know unless you try.

Hunger Games

I just started the Hunger Games yesterday and it is really good. Suzanne Collins has great description and even though I'm not very far in the book I can tell it's going be amazing once I get farther into it. Where I'm at the Main character is in the woods with a guy named Gale and they are eating cheese and bread. They live in a place nicknamed the seam. There is little food so the MC has to hunt in the woods just outside the city which in the Seam is illegal but they have to do it for food. That's all I have for now there will be more updates coming.

Crocodile Tears

I'm reading either the 6th or 7th book in the Alex Rider Series and so far it is very good. In the part I'm at right now Alex is taken to an abandoned safari camp in Africa against his will. Then he begins being tortured by having to hold onto a bar over three hungry crocodiles after a couple minutes the McCain leaves and his wife stays to watch Alex die. After another minute Alex can't go for much longer but then an agent from the Indian intelligence agency RAW pushes McCain's wife into the crocodile pit and saves Alex and that's where I left off. One more thing the Alex Rider series is great if you're into intense action and spy books. Oh and the next book I'm going to read is Hunger Games.

Gun/Hunters Safety for kids

Author's Note: In Multimedia I'm doing a persuasive topic for a project and my teacher told me to check in the SIRS Knowledge Database for a idea on what to do and this is what I chose because it is a big topic and there is a lot of argument over if kids should have gun safety or not. I know this isn't Multimedia but I just wanted to express my opinion on this topic in a blog post so you guys could read.

There is a lot of controversy over this specific topic and there are many different opinions but I believe kids should be given hunters safety. I know that people say that you shouldn't teach kids how to use guns but keep them away from them. That is true but kids need to know what to do if they encounter a weapon, I mean you don't want a kid picking up a gun thinking it's a toy and accidentally start shooting. If a kid is not educated in gun safety that could very easily happen. You could make the point that even though people are educated there are still accidents that also is true but you can never avoid accidents they happen all the time. Now whats your opinion on this topic?

Haiti Food Pack

Authors Note: My mom and I went to a food pack Sunday at the State Fair Exp Center for starving kids in Haiti and I decided to write about my experience.

The Worldwide Hunger Relief set up the food pack to help the homeless kids in Haiti who don't have food. The experience I had was awesome, we were assigned to a table with five other people and we packed meals for a hour and a half. All of the meals included a soy bean mix, protein powder, vegetables and rice and we had to pack, weigh and seal the meals so they could be shipped.

They told us that each of the meals we packed could feed six people and we packed 36 into each box. We packed 12 boxes and that equals one shipping pallet, so if you do the math we could feed almost 2500 people just by working for only an hour and a half.

At the start I didn't think that it was going to be that good but once we started really getting into it I had a great time. The people we worked with were really nice and there was another boy who was probably 10 or 11 that was working with us so it wasn't too bad.

It was awesome and it was a great cause so I felt I had done something huge when I left. They do have special events for schools so it is possible that we could have a food pack at our school.

POEM

FALL
It means Halloween, hunting season, and tons of fun
It is leaves falling on your shoulders
It's cool mornings that remind you that winter's coming
you think of cold and misery but then you think of good times sledding snowball fights and hot chocolate
fall is colorful
This is fall

Carl Yung Method

A man named Carl Yung has found that if you use word association you can think of ideas that you weren't thinking of before. Mr. Johnson Taught us this method and now I use it all the time to think of writing topics. In  fact some of my past posts I came up with using this method. This is very effective in coming up with good ideas, I'd suggest this method to anyone who has trouble thinking of stuff to write about.

Snakehead

The book I'm reading is Snakehead, the book is part of the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. I read the first book in class last year and after that I started reading the rest of the series. This is one of the best series I've read for this reason I'd recommend it to anyone.

The book I'm reading is about a kid named Alex Rider who is an agent for MI6 a British Intelligence agency. His mission  is to infiltrate a criminal organization called Snakehead. The point I'm at in the book is where he is taken to a secret hospital where they are going to take out his organs and sell them. (Not a very good picture right?)

Well as I said before this is a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone. I will post more updates soon.

This Weekend

Author's Note: I used the Carl Yung method to think of a topic and this is what came to mind.

This Saturday I'm going to go to Madison to see the Badgers game. I have  to wake up pretty early to go to my football game in Muskego that morning. Once that's over I will start my trip to my Aunt's and Uncle's house. (They live in Madison ) We are going to hang out there for a little bit and then go to a tailgate party that my uncle sets up and we stay there then walk to the game. A lot of my extended family will be there so I will also get to see my cousins.

The Badgers are going to play the Nebraska Corn Huskers and it should be a great game. They are the top Big Ten teams and this will be one of the biggest games of the year. My favorite part of all the Badger games is Jump Around, it's just amazing to see all those people jumping and the whole stadium shakes. I know I'm going to have a great time this weekend hanging out with my family and watching the game.

*Check out this Video*

This has to be one of the best hits I've seen, and it's by a quarterback. Quarterbacks aren't known to hit hard or make tackles but this challenges that, Andrew Luck is a complete beast!

The Brew Crew

The Brewers are one of the hottest teams in the MLB right now. They' ve won many of there last few games keeping a lead in there division. If they win just a few more games they will be able to clinch the division and get into the playoffs. Once they get to the playoffs I think they will be a deadly team, they have two amazing power hitters Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun and also a lot of speed on the base paths with other players. I don't think the Brewers will make it to the World Series but I do think that they will make it far. All and all the Brewers are a great team and I like to go and watch them play, even if they are doing really well right now I don't think they'll get very far in October but it would be awesome if they did.

Football

Football has always been America's sport. I don't know anyone who hates football and who doesn't like to watch the games Sunday. Football is played by many people either in a league or just for fun. I can see why some people are afraid to play football but it's not bad, sure people get hurt but you can get hurt in any sport. Even though it's not the worlds most popular sport that's because the main place that it's played  is in the U.S. and Canada. Anyway I like football because it's fun hard-hitting and exciting.

New School Year

People never like going back to school after a fun summer. Although I agree, going back to school can be good for many reasons. The first you get to see all of your friends that you haven't seen very much during the summer. Second school marks the start of the best sport in the world FOOTBALL! Anyway I know there are many different reasons school is good but those are my favorite.    :)
